Community Funding is available for a wide range of projects, events and operational that support wellbeing across Invercargill and Bluff.

Are you wanting funding for a project or event, or do you have operation costs for your organisation that need covered? If so, then we may be able to help!

The Community Wellbeing Fund has available funding of $465,000 for the 2025/2026 financial year, across 5 rounds. The Community Wellbeing Fund's goal is to support social, cultural, environmental and economic wellbeing as well as Council’s vision to create “Our City with Heart – He Ngākau Aroha”. Applications are invited from groups and organisations seeking funds for a project or event which aligns with Council’s vision.

Applications for the Community Wellbeing Fund are open throughout the year, with closing dates as noted on this page. Apply here.

Committee Meetings

The Community Wellbeing Fund Subcommittee meets regularly to assess funding applications. Refer to the Council meetings and workshops page, then scroll down to "Related Information" to see when the subcommittee is scheduled to meet.

Members of Invercargill City Council's Community Wellbeing Fund Subcommittee include 4 Councillors: Steve Broad (Chair), Andrea de Vries, Marcus Lush and Lisa Tou-MacNaughton; and 3 Community Representatives: Sebastian Gray (Youth Rep), Anjelina Nikora-Wilson and Nathan Burdon.
