CLOSED - Dog Control Policy and Bylaw 2022

Council is engaging with the community on an updated Dog Control Policy and Dog Control Bylaw. The Policy and Bylaw were last updated in 2018 and are due for review. Prior to consultation, Council engaged with a number of interested parties to seek their views. The proposed updates to the Dog Control Policy are minor. Some definitions or sections have been strengthened to remove ambiguity. Some information has been added directly from the Dog Control Act 1996 to make it more accessible.

Dog off-Leash Maps

The Dog off-leash map for Sandy Point has been made more user-friendly to understand. The boundaries and leased (out-of-bounds) areas are easier to identify. The map has also been updated as the current maps still show the old Golf Course being out of bounds, however this is now not the case. All of the applicable dog off-leash maps have been included under the documents section for ease of access for review.
