Spatial Plan
What should the Invercargill District look like in 30 years?
That’s what the Invercargill Spatial Plan will help answer and we want to know your long-term vision for how Waihōpai Invercargill and Motopōhue Bluff should grow and develop over the next three decades.
The Plan will help guide future decisions about housing, transport, infrastructure, business, community spaces, the natural environment and investment, creating a roadmap for the Invercargill District that meets the needs of current and future generations. This will help us be responsive to growth and development, improve the places we live, and to plan for what’s important.
Our Spatial Plan will create a visual blueprint for the future, indicating what should go where and how each element should interact with the other. This includes how housing, transport, infrastructure, community facilities and public spaces are mapped out in the future.
Planning is in the early stages so we want to know three things:
What do you value most about the Invercargill District, and what would you like to see protected or enhanced in the future?
What opportunities or challenges do you see for growth and development in this area over the next 10 to 30 years?
What changes would make the most difference for you and your community?
This is your opportunity to help shape the future of the Invercargill District.
More information will be available on this page as the project develops, so stay tuned!
