Consultation has concluded
The Invercargill City Council wants to hear views from young people how to support the vibrancy of our city. The results will be shared with the wider community and will inform Council’s 10 years strategy for the next 2024 -2034 Long-term Plan.
Council held a pop-up stand at Invercargill Central on Friday 25 November to get ideas from 18-30 years old about what they want for their city. The participants were invited to either leave comments on post-it notes or to share their views through an online survey, they could then spin a wheel to win some prizes – up to $100 shopping voucher. Our online survey was open from 17 November to 9 December 2022.
A total of 297 comments and 406 ideas were raised both online and in person. These have been categorised in areas of greatest interest, more details can be found in the Documents section of this page: Youth activities / Meeting spaces, Night life, City environment, Transport, Family activities, Retail offering and Economy and housing.
Are you 18-30 and have ideas for this city? Do you like free pizza?
An 18-30 City Vibrancy Think Tank facilitated by COIN South will build on the feedback we receive to develop ideas for Council and stakeholders to consider taking forward.
With the help of a human library, 18-30 years old from all walks of life are invited to test ideas and co-design solutions for a more vibrant city around four main themes: Youth activities / meeting spaces, Night Life, City Environment and Transports.
Wednesday 22 February - SIT Students Hub, 133 Tay Street
5pm to 7.30pm - Doors open at 4.45pm
This event has reached its full capacity and registrations are now closed.
