We are currently working on our next Long Term Plan - Council's vision is Our City with Heart - He Ngākau Aroha. Whether it is about our economic, cultural, social or environmental wellbeing, there are many opportunities for our city and community to grow but also issues to consider in those challenging times – from climate change to delivering major projects to managing rates increases.

We went out earlier in the year and asked what wellbeing means to the residents of Invercargill. Since then, we have made publicly available some Council reports as well as the recording and presentation of Council-only workshops as we work through the preparation of the next Long-term plan. Head to the Documents section on this page to read Council’s draft vision and strategic priorities or go to the Councillors workshops section to learn about key issues

Further Consultation will take place between March and April 2024. The exact dates for this period of consultation have not yet been set.

    Kia ora koutou,

Ray Fife, the chair of Bluff Community Board, and our Council team were present at the Bluff Art Market on Saturday 21st May. We are very appreciative of all the community members who stopped by our stand at Four Square to share their thoughts for the Voting System and ideas for Bluff. Quite a few were happy to take pictures with friends and whānau to showcase the importance of Cultural Wellbeing for the occasion.

Some of the comments draw attention to the importance of recreational activities with the boat ramp and hosting events in Bluff as well as adapted infrastructure with more public toilets, maintained pedestrian walkaways and building facades.

Here are some of the photos taken that day, remember you can as well us our photo booth app: https://iccheart.vbooth.me/booth/kGZR5PGJ

Our next engagement will be at Invercargill Countdown supermarket tomorrow, make sure to check our key dates to talk to our councillors.

    Ngā mihi nui,

    Invercargill City Council
